The 2025 Met Gala is officially underway. Despite the less-than-ideal conditions in New York City today, Hollywood’s biggest fashionistas are headed to the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for fashion’s biggest night out, this year in celebration of a revolutionarily important theme: Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. Taking inspiration from the history of Black dandyism, we’re in for a night of well-tailored suits, historic references and, of course, next-level beauty looks. Ahead, the best nail looks from the 2025 Met Gala.
The Met Gala’s Best Manicures
Lizzo
True to the theme, Lizzo’s manicure—created by celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu using Après Gel—looked like suits themselves, featuring the brand’s Cloud Nine ($15) and Birnam Wood ($15).

Joey King
Joey King’s Met Gala manicure paid homage to the fashion-forward, over-the-top nature of dandyism, with a custom manicure done by nail tech Thuy Nguyen using Après Gel’s Vampire Drunk ($15), Mustard Only ($15), Sweet Cream ($15) and Birnam Wood ($15).

Halle Bailey
Paired with her dramatically structural gown and fascinator, nail artist Temeka Jackson created a dramatic navy and white French manicure with DND’s Rose Palais ($12), Whipped Cream ($12) and Magic Night ($12) on The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey, complete with rhinestone decals for the extra Met Gala touch.

Vittoria Ceretti
“For top model Vittoria Ceretti’s Met Gala look, we created a sleek and thin black French manicure using DND gel to complement her dark navy pinstripe ensemble,” says nail tech Kim Truong. “After a clean nail prep, we applied DND Base Coat ($15) for long-lasting wear. The nails were layered with the sheer and elegant DND Gel Color in Pink Glaze ($12) to create a soft, natural base. With DND art liner brush #5, we added micro French tips using DND Black Licorice ($12), echoing the subtle pinstripe detail in her look. The manicure was sealed with DND Non-Wipe Top Coat ($12) for a glossy, glass-like finish, and finished with DND Cuticle Oil ($8) to keep the cuticles nourished and red carpet-ready.”

Ego Nwodim
Paired with her perfectly fitted Christopher John Rogers peplum suit, Saturday Night Live’s Ego Nwodim matched her nails to the rainbow buttons of her cuffs.

Lala Anthony
The beauty brand founder graced the 2025 Met Gala steps in archival Off-White by Virgil Abloh, and let her structural gown speak for itself, pairing the ensemble with simple, short, square soap nails.

Emma Chamberlain
Met Gala royalty and resident carpet host, Emma Chamberlain, opted for custom-made Courrèges pin stripe gown and a sultry, vampire-core glam look, complete with short, square, wine-red nails.

Zuri Hall
Another classic style on tonight’s Met Gala carpet, Access Hollywood‘s Zuri Hall went with a chic, almond-shaped French for the big event.

Sydney Sweeney
Dressed in a shimmery Miu Miu gown, Sydney Sweeney’s Met Gala mani featured what appears to be a rose gold, cat-eye French style, with hand-painted gold accents.

Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union
The famous couple took to the Met steps together, and they got their pre-event manis done together too! Gabrielle opted for a simple soap mani courtesy of Thuy Nguyen which beautifully complimented hubby Wade’s mismatched polka dot mani (also by Nguyen) which features DND’s Green Isle ($12), DND Black Ocean ($12) and healthy helping of chrome powder.
