This year’s Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrates the creativity, influence and legacy of Black fashion and self-expression. While designers paid tribute with powerful looks, the skin prep was just as intentional. From lasers to layering serums, these celebs made sure their red-carpet glow matched the moment.

The designer stopped by Joanna Czech’s studio for a pre-gala session with the new LYMA Laser Pro ($5995), the upgraded version of a cult-favorite device known for its ability to boost collagen and improve tone.
Anok Yai
Model Anok Yai touched down in New York ahead of the Gala and prepped her skin with the help of celebrity esthetician Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine. His skin-care treatment included Augustinus Bader to help give her a red-carpet ready glow.

To get Rachel Brosnahan’s skin glowing before the big night, makeup artist Lisa Aharon used a full routine of EltaMD essentials, including the Skin Recovery Essence Toner ($43), Skin Recovery Serum ($67), AM Restore Moisturizer ($41), Renew Eye Gel ($65) and UV Daily SPF 50 ($40).
“We wanted to create a sophisticated look with a touch of edge. We kept the skin fresh, luminous, and effortless—letting the makeup enhance, not compete, with the drama of the dress,” says Aharon. “Her skin needed calming, lightweight hydration that would support the makeup without overwhelming it, so we tailored every step to be gentle, barrier-strengthening, and glow-boosting. I then pulled inspiration from the deep purple tones of her Sergio Hudson gown to create a sultry, smudged plum eye.”

As Vogue’s official Met Gala correspondent, Chamberlain trusted celebrity facialist Ivan Pol for his signature Beauty Sandwich treatment. Her sculpted look came courtesy of the N°1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Serum Duo ($230) and lifting hydration from LE LIFT Crème ($180), creating a smooth, firm base for makeup.
Law Roach
Celebrity stylist Law Roach let followers know it was “glow time” with a Vaseline shoutout ahead of his appearance. His Met Gala prep included a bedazzled Vaseline, a classic barrier-sealing step that locks in moisture for a dewy, beautiful look.
Serena Williams
The tennis icon took to TikTok to walk fans through her entire skin-care lineup, starting with a gentle face wash and layering two of her favorite serums: STEMTOX ($1500)(“not an ad, I just love it”) and a truffle spray serum from d’Alba Piedmont ($25). She followed with a jelly hydrator, eye cream for dark circles and a rich moisturizer to seal everything in before makeup. “At night, it needs to be looking right and tight,” she said.
